Maureen's Front Stoop

SOLD
Back from cooking and back to painting! Today I went to my sister Maureen's house where she was getting her lunches packed in Bentos for the coming week's worth of work lunches. I didn't want to paint in the house while she was cooking so I went out to her front stoop. When we were little girls, we would all sit on the lowest step of the front porch and hang out with our friends and keep an eye on the neighborhood. My Mother would say, "Get off the stoop!" I don't know why. We weren't expecting company. Maybe she thought it just looked bad. Now that we are grown we sit on the stoop. She sits there with Craig and they chat as I paint and when I take a break from painting I sit there too. We still keep an eye on the neighborhood. "Are those lights on in the car across the street?" We never did investigate that.

  2. Thanks Art. I am glad to be back too! Painting was such a breeze today! I am able to pack everything up more efficiently now so set up is a snap. I just open a box, squeeze out the paints and start. The panel I paint on is alreay in the box cover ready to go. Other than opening a tripod and sticking the box on top there is no other set up! I also can just shut the lid and cean the palette when I get home! I have no excuse now. I think that as long as there is no problem with the fumes, I can paint anywhere except under water! Sounds like a challenge...

  3. Christine, this one is so wonderful. When I saw it on facebook I thought, what a wonderful place to sit and think. Now that I know where it is, I can say that I know first hand that is indeed the case. Excellent as usual!

  4. You know, maybe I should go and paint the original stoop on Ash Street where we sat as girls!
