Second Girl at Fort Phoenix

Fort Phoenix has to be one of my all time favorite places to go when I need to clear my head and have some quiet time. It has a nice beach, benches that look over the ocean and of course, the old cannons. It is a nice place to fly a kite, walk your dog or, as in this case, take wedding photos before the reception. This young lady was with a wedding party and she escaped from the photographers just in time to pose for me! I don't know your name but if you end up seeing this, thank you for being such a super model! 5.9" x 5.9" / Oil on Panel / 15cm x 15cm

Purchase of this daily painting may be done through contacting my email . Each daily painting is $150 US plus applicable tax. (Please see Terms of Sale)

  1. I share your fondness with this place. I used to take walks there all the time when I lived there. Beautifully captured.

  2. Wow, you did a great job with these girls - I think you're on to something here! There's something simple yet solid about the compositions, and the figures are top notch!

  3. Thanks, Art. It is a great place. I could probably paint there everyday and always find something new and beautiful.

Thank you, Kelly! That is a great compliment coming from a fellow artist! I felt compelled to paint these girls...they were both so full of a strength of character that you don't often find. They were a joy to paint! ...and sculpting class helped so much with painting the figure!

  5. Ha! Rick, you made me laugh! I thought of you when I was painting this! You should be proud of yourself for having the ability to make your students absorb what you teach them! It was a fun class. :-)
