This is the Infamous Art Landry!

Yes! I finally did a portrait of my very good friend, Art Landry. For years some of my friends would hear my stories of my adventures with Art but they would never meet him so they began to think I was making him up. So here is proof that he exists, Jane! (Can a painting be proof?)

Hacker Street

Before I went for a walk with my sister, Maureen I had just under an hour to kill so I painted the view at the end of her street. The wind off the water was pretty cold but there were people wading in the water anyway. I wish that I had more time to paint this one.

Girl at Fort Phoenix

I loved the character of this girl. She gave me the impression that she was far wiser than her years. She was part of the wedding party and...(now I am just guessing at this part)... she was taking a break from it all with her Dad and sister. I really don't know if the man was her Uncle and if the girl was her cousin. It doesn't matter. It reminds me of being a girl...running around the cannons, and how good it felt on a "big" day in a fancy dress to suddenly not have to be so formal again.

Padanaram Bridge

This is another drizzly, cloudy day. The weather report says more of the same to come. Can I learn to like painting grey? We will see. People still fish off the bridge in this weather. They are the die-hards. I like them.

Sunset at Hacker Street Beach

Today's painting is a sunset at Hacker Street Beach which is a short walk from my sister's house where I had just visited. It was started at 8:30 PM. The fog was rolling in quickly so I had to work as fast as I could to try and capture the misty-ness. It was fun and by the end I had to put on a head-light so I could see what I was mixing on my pallet and so I could pack up my gear before the mosquitoes took over. I had the company of three men who had just finished catching some large blues. It was a very good end to a very nice day.
